Bertrand Bolduc, B.Pharm., MBA, ICD.D, Chairman of the Board
Bertrand Bolduc earned his Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from the Université de Montréal in 1990 and a MBA from HEC Montréal in 2000. Mr. Bolduc has more than 17 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, which he acquired with Servier Canada Inc., Biovail Corporation (TSX: BVF), Axcan Pharma Inc., Procrea Biosciences Inc. (now OPMEDIC Group Inc., TSX: OMG) and TGN Biotech Inc., for which he participated in many business and product acquisitions. From August 2003 to September 2008, he was President & CEO and a director of Mistral Pharma Inc. (TSX Venture Exchange: MIP), a pharmaceutical company that developed controlled-release drugs. He is a former President of the Pharmaceutical Marketing Club of Québec and of BioQuébec, the bio-industries and life sciences network of Quebec. Mr. Bolduc is a Director of Opsens Inc. (TSX-V: OPS), Motionsphere Capital Inc. (NEX: MSL.H), a capital pool company, and of Prevtec Microbia Inc. He has been a member of the Ordre des Pharmaciens du Québec since July 1990 and is a director of the same since June 2009. Mr. Bolduc is also a board-certified director of the Institute of Corporate Directors. Recognized by his peers as an industry leader, Mr. Bolduc was named « Pharmacien de coeur et d’action » in the Industry category by “L’Actualité Pharmaceutique” magazine in 2002. In 2004 he was named « Pharmacien de mérite » by the magazine Québec Pharmacie, the leading continuing education magazine for Quebec pharmacists.
Denis Giroux, B.Pharm., M.Sc., Pharmacist, Founder
Denis Giroux has a Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (1980), a Master’s Degree in Hospital Pharmacy (1993) and a Masters in Pharmaceutical Science (pharmacokinetics, 1993) from the University of Montreal. After working for several years in the community and hospital pharmacies, Mr. Giroux became a pharmacist at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in 1984, where he would stay until 1995. During his time at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, he helped put in place a pharmacy department and joined in the training of students. He also sat on a number of committees. Mr. Giroux was an Administrator for the “Ordre des pharmaciens du Québec” from 1989 to 1996. He is a member of a number of professional associations like the American Society of Hospital Pharmacists, the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists, the International Pharmaceutical Federation and the International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists. He is also a Fellow of the Society of Veterinary Hospital Pharmacists. In 1995, he founded Giroux Laboratories Inc. (now Galenova Inc.) and Denis Giroux, M.Sc., Pharmacist (now Gentès et Bolduc, pharmacists), two companies that have the same mission: provide pharmacists and professionals with the highest quality products and services.
Jean-Philippe Gentès, B.Pharm., MBA, General Manager
Jean-Philippe Gentès got his Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from the Laval University in 2002 and an MBA in Pharmacy Management from the same university in 2004. He worked as a pharmacist and a substitute pharmacist throughout most of Québec and even traveled to France to work in the pharmaceutical industry at former Sanofi-Synthelabo in 2002. He has been working at Galenova since January 2006 and is responsible of the company’s operations and corporate development.
Marcel Giguère, B.Sc.Pharm., L.Ph., D.S.A., Director
Marcel Giguère has a Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmaceutical Science from University of Montreal in 1977 and a Diploma in Administrative Sciences from the HEC Montréal in 1980. Mr. Giguère has been working in the industry in positions that relate to managing pharmaceutical manufacturing for almost 30 years. He began his career at Abbott Laboratories (1977-1983), then at Bristol Myers-Squibb from 1983 to 1990. From 1991 to 1997, he was Vice President and General Manager at the Biovail manufacturing plant in Steinbach, Manitoba where he led the construction of the plant and received FDA approval for TIAZAC®. Since 2000, Mr. Giguère has been a consultant for the pharmaceutical industry and has led a number of expansion projects and the rationalization of operations. As well as sitting on a number of Boards, he has sponsored the development of a biotechnology company from 2001 to 2005.
Jacques A. Nadeau, B.Sc.Pharm., M.Sc., MBA, Director
Jacques A. Nadeau has a Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmaceutical Science at University of Montreal in 1970, a Masters degree in Radiopharmacy from the University of Southern California in 1971, a Diploma in Administrative Sciences from the HEC Montréal in 1975 and an MBA from McGill University in 1977. He began his career at Frosst Radiopharmaceuticals (now Draximage) and worked at Merck Sharp & Dohme and at New England Nuclear. From 1980 to 1987, Mr. Nadeau became General Manager of the “Ordre des Pharmaciens du Québec” and implemented its Professional Insurance Fund. From 1987 to 1990, he worked at Cumberland as Director Professional Services, then Vice President, Human Resources. From 1990 to 2006, he was Vice President Professional Services and Business Development at Pharmaprix (Shoppers Drug Mart). During his career Mr. Nadeau contributed to the development of numerous professional and not-for-profit organisations like the Centre Dollard Cormier, DomRémy-Montréal and the Canadian Pharmacy Registrars Conference. He was a Municipal Counsellor for the Municipality of Hudson from 1985 to 1989. He is a member of the editorial team of L’Actualité Pharmaceutique.
