Jean-Philippe Gentès, B.Pharm., MBA, General Manager
Jean-Philippe Gentès got his Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from the Université Laval in 2002 and an MBA in Pharmaceutical Management from the same university in 2004. He worked as a pharmacist and a substitute pharmacist throughout most of Québec and even traveled to France to work in the pharmaceutical industry at former Sanofi-Synthelabo in 2002. He has been working at Galenova since January 2006 and is responsible for the company’s operations and corporate development. In 2007, Jean-Philippe Gentès won the Arista contest in the category of Young Innovative Leader. The same year he joined the Board of Director of La Cité des Biotechnologie de St-Hyacinthe. In 2008, he became a member of the investment comitee for the FLI/SOLIDE fund for the St-Hyacinthe area (CLD les Maskoutains). In 2009, he became an advisor on the Ordre des Pharmaciens comitee responsible to establish the non-sterile and sterile compounding regulation for the province of Quebec. In 2010, he was named “Pharmacien de Coeur et d’action” in the young practitioner category.
Lyne Ducharme, Director, Finance and Administration
Ms. Ducharme has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a Major in Accounting from the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM). She has gained a vast amount of experience in accounting, auditing and in general administration through her work at various corporations, and more specifically at Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton.
Carole Garceau, Quality Manager
Ms. Garceau got her training in Operations Management and in Biotechnology at University of Montreal. Before joining the company in 2000, she worked for Prometic, Burroughs-Wellcome, Glaxo Wellcome, and Baker Cummings (now Draxis Pharma) in quality assurance and control.
Christine Gendron, Regulatory Affairs Manager
Ms. Gendron has a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from University of Montreal (1994). Before joining the company in 2002, Ms. Gendron worked for over 5 years at the FRDC in St-Hyacinthe on a number of research and development projects in microbiology.
Marie-Ève Laroche, Chief Technician
Ms. Laroche joined the company in 2001. She has a Diploma in Technical Assistance in Pharmacy from the “Centre de formation professionnelle du Trait-Carré” in Charlesbourg, Quebec. Ms. Laroche has gained varied experience in preparing compounded prescription products, acquired through her work in community pharmacies. Ms. Laroche leads the team of technicians at Galenova.
Yves Moreau, Sales Representative
Mr. Moreau has a vast amount of experience in pharmaceutical sales in Québec. After working for a few years in the food industry, Mr. Moreau took on various positions relating to sales and customer service in the pharmacy sector and for pharmaceutical and chemical companies. More notably, he worked for Pharmaprix-Shoppers Drug Mart, Searle (now Pfizer), Sandoz (now Novartis) and at Xenex Laboratories. He joined the Denis Giroux team in 2000. For over 6 years, Yves Moreau has been visiting the pharmacists and professionals in Québec, providing outstanding service.
Chantal Labelle, Director, Quality Control and Assurance
Ms. Labelle has a Bachelor’s Degree in biotechnology from the Université of Quebec in Montreal. She has more that 17 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. She has worked more than 10 years in production and validation of biologics drugs and sterile pharmaceutical products. For the last 7 years, she has worked in quality control and quality assurance. Her experience was gained at the Biotechnology Recherche Institut, Bio-Intermédiair, Gist-Brocades, Draxis and DSM biologics amd allowed Ms. Labelle to gain an excellent experince in pharmaceutical project management, and of Canadian, American and Europeen regulatory requirements.
Jean-François Dufour, Director, Production
Mr. Dufour has a Bachelor’s Degree specialized in Chemistry from the Montreal University (1994). Mr. Dufour has worked in different industries since the last 10 years, during which he obtained a solid experience in production management, with the ISO 9000 & GMP standards, as well as miscellaneous knowledge in fields parallel to all production processes. Before joining Galenova in 2007, Mr. Dufour worked as a Production / Research & Development Chemist (1996-2001) and Production Manager (2004-2007) for the SCP SCIENCE company, and as a Production Supervisor / manufacturing-packaging (2001-2004) for Pharmascience. Mr. Dufour is a member of “l’Ordre des Chimistes du Québec”.
Alex Aviles, Director of Sales and Marketing
Alex Aviles has worked for over 10 years in the compounding industry. Mr. Aviles commenced his career at Medisca Pharmaceutique as a sales representative for AB, SK, MB before his role as the Canadian Sales Manager and then as a Regional Sales Manager for Medisca in the US. From 2001 to 2007 Alex worked for PCCA (Professional Compounding Centers of America) as the Director of Sales and Marketing for Canada where he helped build the foundation since the inception of the Canadian branch in 2001. During his career he has helped compounding pharmacists grow their business and has held positions responsible for wholesalers, buying groups, hospital contracts in North America and has implemented a new product in AB. He graduated with a Bachelors Degree from Acadia University in 1993 and is a member of the International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists.
Tony Stanic, Sales Manager - Western Canada
Tony Stanic is a familiar face for many compounding pharmacists across Canada as he has worked with them for many years prior to joining Galenova in 2010. Tony has been actively involved and has attended many seminars and conferences relating to specialized compounding niches all across Canada while at his previous employer, PCCA, where he was hired in 2003 as Canada’s first national account representative. Tony also has experience in the retail and tech sectors as a recruiter and was also involved in a once in a lifetime project with the Vancouver 2010 Olympics prior to joining Galenova. Tony graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in 1998 at the University of Windsor.
Rosane Meneghel, Sales Manager, Ontario
Rosane Meneghel has more than 8 years of experience in compounding. She started her career as a Pharmacy Assistant, in 2000 and in 2007 graduated in Pharmacy at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, one of the best Universities of Latin America. During her studies, Ms. Meneghel also worked with a major University Hospital, (Hospital de Clínicas, Porto Alegre, Brazil) in Sterile Compounding, Industrial Pharmacy and in the Drug Information Centre. Following graduation, she worked as a Compounding Pharmacist in Brazil for 3 years, acquiring knowledge in quality control, quality assurance, as well as dermatological and oral formulations. Passionate in this field, she is always keeping herself updated and hopes to contribute to Galenova’s clients by offering quality customer service and by guiding them to make great business decisions.
